PUTRAJAYA: The Election Commission will decide in a special meeting next Thursday (August 3) the by-election dates for Pulai parliamentary and Simpang Jeram state constituencies following the death of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub on Sunday.

Election Commission secretary Ikmalrudin Ishak said in a statement today that the EC had received the written notices from Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul and Johor State Assembly Speaker Mohd Puad Zarkashi earlier today on the vacancy of the parliamentary and state seats respectively.
