KUALA LUMPUR: The cabinet has agreed to lift the ruling on mandatory masking on public transport.
A source told Sin Chew Daily although mandatory masking will no longer be enforced soon, the health ministry still encourages members of the public to put on their masks when taking public transport.
The source said the cabinet had also agreed to shorten the quarantine period for Covid-19 patients from seven days to five days.
Health minister Dr. Zaliha Mustafa said earlier this month that her ministry would meet to discuss the latest measures on Covid-19 in the middle of the month, including whether to lift the ruling on mandatory masking on public transport such as trains, buses, e-hailing vehicles and school buses.
