PETALING JAYA: Former MCA president Tun Dr. Ling Liong Sik, former DAP advisor Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang, glove tycoons Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai and Tan Sri Lim Kuang Sia are made honorary life presidents of the Federation of Malaysian Lim Associations.
In an annual general meeting held last Saturday, the federation passed a resolution to appoint Tun Dr. Ling, Kit Siang, Wee Chai and Kuang Sia as honorary life presidents.
The federation believes the four are outstanding and influential leaders who have made significant contributions towards the society.
Their achievements will help attract more Chinese surnamed Lim to join the federation and make it more popular.
The four honorary life presidents do not only offer their valuable experiences and wisdom to the federation but also help the federation expand further.
They are the role models to be responsible and dedicated citizens, said the federation in a statement.
The federation believes that under the leadership of the four, the federation will scale greater heights and be able to serve its members better.
Kit Siang was recently conferred with the honorific title Tan Sri, the first for the DAP stalwart, while Dr. Ling was the MCA president for 17 years until he stepped down in 2003.
Both Kuang Sia and Wee Chai are founders of Bursa-listed glove manufacturing companies, Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd and Top Glove Corporation Bhd respectively.
