Zambry to drop out of Umno VP race
PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir announced that he would not contest for Umno vice presidency but would seek re-election as the party’s supreme council member.
He wrote on Facebook that he decided to drop out of the vice presidency race to handle his heavy ministerial duties and strengthen the relationship between BN and parties in the unity government.
A total of eight people will contest the party’s three vice president posts.
Zambry had earlier on February 24 announced that he was vying for the Umno vice presidency.
