KUALA TERENGGANU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is stepping up its investigation on the alleged vote-buying by PAS in Terengganu during the 15th general election.
MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed today that the commission had identified the 90 voters said to have waited in front of a shop in Terengganu for PAS to distribute money before the general election. MACC has since initiated the investigation.
Meanwhile, Terengganu menteri besar cum PAS vice president Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said the state PAS leaders were prepared to cooperate with the MACC or any other enforcement agency in the investigation.
However, he said MACC had yet to summon any PAS leader to assist in the investigation so far.
