KUALA LUMPUR: Khairy Jamaluddin said he would not be surprised if he is sacked or suspended by the Umno supreme council.

He told Utusan Malaysia that this was because there had been several Umno leaders sacked or suspended without being given the chance to defend themselves.

However, he said he had so far not received any letter from the party’s disciplinary board or summoned to explain why action should not be taken against him.

“I have not received any notice from the disciplinary board, and no one has attempted to contact me.

“Disciplinary issues should be handled by the disciplinary board, but the supreme council has made many unilateral decisions without going through the disciplinary board!”

The Umno supreme council will meet tonight whether to take action against Khairy.
