Toll-free travels ahead of CNY
PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that Malaysian motorists will be able to enjoy toll-free travels along expressways in the country this Friday and Saturday in conjunction with Chinese New Year celebration.
He announced in a press conference after the weekly cabinet meeting that the works and transport ministries had approached the highway concessionaires and managed to get them to agree to exempt all vehicle classes from toll on January 20 and 21.
The prime minister also said the two-day toll exemption would cost the government an estimated RM40 million.
