PUTRAJAYA: Human resources minister Sivakumar Varatharaju Naidu announced that the government would expedite the procedures for the hiring of foreign worker in key sectors with immediate effect.

The five key sectors and sub-sectors are manufacturing, construction, plantation, agriculture and services (for restaurants only).

Sivakumar said in a statement today that employers in the above sectors and sub-sectors could submit their applications for the hiring of foreign workers through the Foreign Workers Centralized Management System (FWCMS) platform from today.

”The human resources ministry will process and approve the hiring for foreign workers within three working days upon receiving the applications.

“Employers will no longer have to advertise on MyFututeJobs.

 “This new policy will take effect immediately.”
