KUALA LUMPUR: Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the party’s supreme council would decide on Thursday whether to invite Pakatan Harapan and DAP to its general assembly to be held next week.

The Thursday meeting is also expected to discuss the issue whether the president and deputy president posts will be open for contest in the coming party elections.

When asked whether the party’s cooperation with Pakatan Harapan has contravened the earlier decision made at the previous Umno general assembly, Ahmad Maslan said the cooperation with the unity government was a decision made by the party’s supreme council during the crucial moment after the 15th general election last November.

When asked whether there would be discussion about the cooperation with PH, Ahmad Maslan said for sure the delegates would raise this issue in the general assembly.
