Health DG Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah (L) and deputy health minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni.

PUTRAJAYA: Health ministry is expected to announce later today anti-Covid measures on tourists arriving from China.

Deputy health minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni said the ministry is expected to require all visitors from China to have negative pre-departure Covid-19 test results before they are allowed into the country.

In a reply to Sin Chew Daily, Lukanisman said health minister Dr. Zaliha Mustafa had met health director-general Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah and the ministry’s relevant team on this matter.

“Yes, pre-departure tests will be one of the requirements.

“The health minister will issue a statement later today.”

Meanwhile, Noor Hisham has also confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that the health minister would soon announce the antivirus requirements for visitors arriving from China.

China announced earlier this week to remove travel restrictions on Chinese nationals with effect from January 8 next year.
