Perak state excos decline RM200,000 year-end incentives

IPOH: The Perak state executive council meeting has approved a proposal of not taking up the special incentives of one-month salary for this year totaling RM200,000.

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Saarani Mohamad and ten state executive councilors will not be receiving their incentives, thus helping the state government save RM200,000.

Perak executive councilor Woo Kah Leong confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that the proposal made by him was supported by his colleagues from DAP and PKR.

Saarani, together with ten other executive councilors were unanimous in not accepting the special incentives.

The proposal was approved in the state exco meeting last week, he said.

The proposal emulated Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in not taking the salary and placed his priority on solving the people’s problems first, said Woo.

Civil servants in Perak are not affected by the decision and they would still be entitled to their year-end incentives.

Woo said the new Perak exco would maintain the exiting office without engaging in renovation, changing sofa and cars.

No honeymoon for the new state government as all elected representatives will be attending the extended sitting for state assembly from December 19 to 30 to approve the state budget and anti-hopping law,” said Woo.
