Most divisions will support if MCA offered ministerial posts

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA’s central committee meeting at the party’s headquarters this afternoon is expected to discuss various issues related to the party’s future, including whether it would join the cabinet or would play a supervisory role in the unity government.

A central committee member who prefers to remain anonymous told Sin Chew Daily even though this morning’s briefing did not mention about the party joining the new cabinet, the issue is expected to be discussed in the central committee meeting.

A leader attending the briefing said the majority of divisional representatives supported the party joining the new cabinet.

He told Sin Chew Daily MCA should join the new cabinet if the government offers.

If there is appointment to ministerial positions, I personally support MCA joining the cabinet, and majority of representatives will also support.”

However, the leader said so far the party had not received any invitation from the government to join the cabinet. As such, this matter was not discussed or voted in this morning’s briefing.

Cheras MCA chief Datuk Sim Eng Peng earlier expressed his support for the party to join the new cabinet.
