KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Indian Congress deputy president Datuk Seri Saravanan Murugan said the Barisan Nasional supreme council meeting did discuss about the post of deputy prime minister, but no candidate was mentioned.
“We talked about this, but no decision was made on the candidate.
“It’s up to the BN chairman to decide,” Saravanan told Berita Harian in an interview.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said yesterday the two deputy prime minister posts would go to the other two major camps in the unity government, namely BN and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
It was earlier reported that Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and GPS whip Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof would likely be nominated as deputy prime ministers.
