KOTA KINABALU: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) president Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan said in a statement today that he believed the establishment of a unity government is the way forward for this country.
He also said his party would adopt an open attitude in supporting a unity government proposed by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, which he said was the best solution in view of the current political deadlock.
However, he insisted that for the unity government to function well, it would have to be inclusive and should include also the elected governments of Sabah and Sarawak.
Kitingan, who is also Sabah deputy chief minister, stressed the importance of national stability.
“The country needs to move forward and for that we must have stability.”
He also said he would convey the party’s stance to the other Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) component parties.
