KUALA LUMPUR: “Superman” Hew Kuan Yew was detained by the police for making seditious remarks during the campaign period.
He wrote on Facebook at about 7.30 this evening that the police from Raub had just arrived at his doorstep to take him to Raub.
Incoming Raub member of parliament Chow Yu Hui confirmed that Hew, a DAP supporter, was taken away by the Raub police from his Kuala Lumpur house.
When contacted, Chow said all he knew was that Hew had been taken away from his KL house.
Hew made sensitive racist and religious remarks during the “election eve” ceramah in Melaka last week.
Three Melaka DAP elected representatives – incoming Kota Melaka MP Khoo Poay Tiong, Kota Laksamana state assemblyman Low Chee Leong and Kesidang state assemblyman Seah Shoo Chin – were summoned by the police this afternoon to assist in the investigation.
