200,000 viewers watch livestream of Anwar, Muhyiddin enter palace

PETALING JAYA: Close to 200,000 viewers watched Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin entering Istana Negara separately to have an audience with His Majesty the King on Tuesday via livestreaming on Sin Chew Daily’s Pocketimes.

On November 22, the Pocketimes teams stationed at the entrance of the Palace, Umno headquarters and Muhyiddin’s residence provided readers with the latest updates via livestreaming on the status of the new government of Malaysia after last Saturday’s election.

A hung parliament has been declared as none of the political coalitions has won more than 50% of the seats to achieve a simple majority while talks are still ongoing to form a joint government with a simple majority.

Malaysians have been anxiously following up news updates on the new government after the 15th general elections concluded on November 19.

Pakatan Harapan won the most seats at 82 but still short of a simple majority of 112 seats. Perikatan Nasional came in second with 73 seats and Barisan Nasional 30.

It was the first time Pocketimes had hit close to 200,000 views on its livestreams.

Three hosts at separate venues continued to update viewers with the latest developments. The hosts interacted with the livestream viewers, leading to the sharp increase of viewers.
