PETALING JAYA: New Straits Times reported quoting a source that the 30 Barisan Nasional members of parliament had not been able to reach an agreement whether to support a leader from Pakatan Harapan or Perikatan Nasional to be the country’s next prime minister.
No one signed any statutory declaration to support Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim or Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Barisan Nasional is expected to propose to His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong to allow the caretaker government to continue operating for some time until a new government is formed.
Meanwhile, The Star reported, also quoting a source, that BN leaders had hinted that they would rather be opposition representatives not aligned to either PH or PN.
