MARANG: PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said it was unnecessary for the party’s election candidates to declare their assets, saying such an act was “stupid,” as if to prove to people how clean they were.

Hadi, who is also the candidate for Marang parliamentary seat, insisted that it was unnecessary for PAS candidates to declare their assets, as they did not have much to declare, unlike leaders of other political parties.

He also said he was not worried PAS would be perceived as not transparent because the voters knew very well how PAS leaders had behaved, and it was therefore not necessary to show how good they were during these two weeks of campaigning.
