Candidates meet, and greet one another, in Bentong market

BENTONG: Knowing that the Kampung Perting market in Bentong is the busiest every Monday, contesting candidates descended on the market early Monday to meet the voters, including the incumbent MP Wong Tack, who runs as an independent candidate this time and has subsequently been sacked by DAP, and his DAP challenger Young Syefura Othman.

Wong arrived at the market at around 7.45 this morning, and a local resident walked up to him and patted his shoulder, praising him for his great courage. Others also told him they would continue to support him.

At around eight, PN’s Ketari state assembly candidate William Tan (Gerakan Rakyat) also arrived at the market, and was seen distributing face masks and sanitizers to the voters.

He greeted Wong Tack and had a fist bump with the latter.

Meanwhile, DAP’s parliamentary and state assembly candidate Young Syefura Othman was also at the market distributing pamphlets to the public. With her were Pakatan Harapan’s state assembly candidates Lee Chin Chen (Bilut) and Su Keong Siong (Ketari).

They chanced upon Wong Tack and his campaigners at a local coffee shop and exchanged brief greetings.
