On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the decipherment of hieroglyphs by Jean-François Champollion, and to celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Louvre-Lens Museum in Lens, northern France, is organizing a major exhibition “Champollion, La Voie des Hiéroglyphes” (Champollion, The way of the Hieroglyphs) dedicated to one of the most fascinating symbols of Egyptian civilization: the hieroglyphs.
