PETALING JAYA, Aug 20 (Sin Chew Daily) – A video widely circulated on social media showing PAS' Member of Parliament for Sik Ahmad Tarmizi Sulaiman speaking on the phone with His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong to verify the prime minister candidate on his statutory declaration, could have violated His Majesty's decree for confidentiality.
During a telephone interview with Sin Chew Daily, Ahmad Tarmizi said he would issue a statement on this matter later today.
He also said he was "handling" the matter with party leaders.
In the 1 minute and five seconds video, Ahmad Tarmizi turned on the speaker of his mobile phone. The conversation between him and the King could be clearly heard in the video. He told the King he was at the PAS head office on Jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur.
He was heard telling His Majesty he supported Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the country's next prime minister "dengan penuh rela, sukarela dan sukahati" (willingly and wholeheartedly).
Bila ada MP PH ambil gambar dan tunjuk SD sokong Anwar Ibrahim, meloncat para walaun kata bodoh lah, bangang lah, bende rahsia lah, x hormat Agong lah.
Hah, YB Sik jgn kata gambar, siap sengaja on speaker bercakap ngan Agong lak tu.. Sekor walaun pun x berani berbunyi. pic.twitter.com/kQP8Ef25C8
