PUTRAJAYA, Aug 13 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 21,468 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including 25 imported cases.

Selangor reported 7,449 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,183), Kedah (1,807), Sabah (1,654), Johor (1,485), Penang (1,316), Kelantan (1,088), Negeri Sembilan (974), Perak (940), Melaka (723), Sarawak (715), Pahang (572) and Terengganu (440).

To date there are a cumulative total of 1,363,683 confirmed cases and 1,110,528 recoveries (including 17,025 recovering today) at 81.44% recovery rate.

277 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 11,968.

There are currently 241,187 active cases, including 1,075 at ICUs, 537 requiring ventilators.
