PUTRAJAYA, July 29 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 17,170 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including 32 imported cases.

Selangor reported 7,163 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,138), Kedah (1,212), Johor (1,054), Negeri Sembilan (884), Sabah (776), Pahang (638), Kelantan (615), Perak (596), Sarawak (582), Penang (554), Terengganu (437) and Melaka (416).

To date there are a cumulative total of 1,078,646 confirmed cases and 890,742 recoveries (including 12,930 recovering today) at 82.58% recovery rate.

174 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 8,725.

There are currently 179,179 active cases, including 1,043 at ICUs, 531 requiring ventilators.
