PUTRAJAYA, June 28 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 5,218 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including seven imported cases.

Selangor reported 1,989 new cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan (629), Kuala Lumpur (469), Sarawak (409), Perak (400), Sabah (258), Johor (243), Kedah (194), Melaka (183), Pahang (111), Labuan (108) and Kelantan (101).

To date there are a cumulative total of 739,266 confirmed cases and 672,453 recoveries (including 4,744 discharged today) at 90.96% recovery rate.

57 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 5,001.

There are currently 61,812 active cases, including 899 at ICUs, 451 requiring ventilators.
