KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Sin Chew Daily) — Another U-turn by two young hawkers selling herbal soup!
Lim Thiam Fook, 21, now claimed that he had been extorted by bogus policemen and called for the police to investigate.
He had earlier changed his plea to admit lodging a fake police report over extortion by the police after failing to identity those who had allegedly extorted him and another 13-year-old worker while they were heading to the food court at 6.30am on June 2.
Thiam Fook said he was encouraged by Malaysian Chinese rapper Namewee or Wee Meng Chee and decided to revert to his original claim.
Thiam Fook insisted that he was extorted by the bogus cops who also poured away 33 bowls of herbal soup boiled by him.
Accompanied by a lawyer, Thiam Fook lodged the report at Sentul police station at 1.40pm Tuesday.
Thiam Fook also said he was summoned by the police to record his statement over the second press conference held earlier.
He said Namewee contacted him and supported him on social media. Wee insisted that he was helping Thiam Fook to seek justice.
He also said he was grateful to Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng who had assisted him.
Sentul police chief ACP Beh Eng Lai said police would hand over the investigation report to the Attorney-General's Chambers after recording statements from Thiam Fook and Lim.
Lim arrived at Sentul police station to record his statement. He said he had no idea why Thiam Fook changed his statement.
