PUTRAJAYA, June 24 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 5,841 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including eight imported cases.

Selangor reported 2,072 new cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan (781), Sarawak (581), Kuala Lumpur (552), Johor (346), Kedah (271), Melaka (247), Labuan (212), Sabah (203), Pahang (162), Kelantan (135), Perak (120) and Penang (108).

To date there are a cumulative total of 716,847 confirmed cases and 650,964 recoveries (including 5,411 discharged today) at 90.81% recovery rate.

84 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 4,721.

There are currently 61,162 active cases, including 869 at ICUs, 438 requiring ventilators.
