PUTRAJAYA, June 9 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 6,239 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including 11 imported cases.

Selangor reported 2,291 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (704), Negeri Sembilan (507), Johor (468), Sarawak (419), Kelantan (340), Sabah (232), Pahang (232), Labuan (200), Penang (194), Perak (175), Terengganu (171), Melaka (150) and Kedah (135).

To date there are a cumulative total of 633,891 confirmed cases and 548,705 recoveries (including 7,386 discharged today) at 86.56% recovery rate.

75 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 3,611.

There are currently 81,575 active cases, including 905 at ICUs, 453 requiring ventilators.
