PUTRAJAYA, June 8 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 5,566 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including four imported cases.

Selangor reported 1,524 new cases, followed by Sarawak (707), Negeri Sembilan (505), Kuala Lumpur (466), Johor (456), Sabah (350), Melaka (314), Perak (225), Kelantan (204), Labuan (191), Penang (185), Pahang (157), Kedah (148) and Terengganu (106).

To date there are a cumulative total of 627,652 confirmed cases and 541,319 recoveries (including 6,962 discharged today) at 86.25% recovery rate.

76 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 3,536.

There are currently 82,797 active cases, including 903 at ICUs, 458 requiring ventilators.
