SEREMBAN, June 6 (Sin Chew Daily) — A 110-year-old centenarian who has been vaccinated encourages those younger than her to do the same.
Chong Ngi Chou from Labu, is believed to be the oldest Malaysian to have received the first dose of vaccine at Nilai Medical Center.

Her granddaughter Luo Xiu Ying and grandson-in-law Huang Yu Tang told Sin Chew Daily they wanted their grandmother to be vaccinated because those living with her under the same roof are working.
They also share that the grandmother watches TV news daily and knows about the COVID-19 vaccine.
When family members asked if she wanted to be vaccinated, she agreed to do so.
"We have also consulted a doctor as she does not have chronic illnesses. We were told to sign her up for vaccination," said Luo.
Chong was informed of the vaccination appointment a week after signing up.
She was accompanied by family members to receive her first dose of injection on Friday.
Chong would be receiving her second injection on June 25.
"Before the vaccination, we asked the medical staff again whether she would be fine to take the vaccination because of her age. We were told that grandma was calm and steady. We supported her decision to be vaccinated," said Luo.
Chong was fine after taking the vaccination.
Medical staff praised her courage after learning about her age.
"My grandmother says there is nothing to be afraid of. She hopes those younger than her to be vaccinated as soon as possible too," said Luo.
