PUTRAJAYA, May 31 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 6,824 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including three imported cases.

Selangor reported 2,111 new cases, followed by Kelantan (695), Sarawak (654), Johor (489), Kedah (464), Kuala Lumpur (387), Melaka (352), Penang (328), Perak (255), Negeri Sembilan (253), Pahang (219), Sabah (207), Terengganu (204) and Labuan (166).

To date there are a cumulative total of 572,357 confirmed cases and 490,038 recoveries (including 5,251 discharged today) at 85.62% recovery rate.

67 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 2,796.

There are currently 79,523 active cases, including 851 at ICUs, 422 requiring ventilators.
