PUTRAJAYA, May 21 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 6,493 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including two imported cases.

Selangor reported 2,163 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (641), Sarawak (612), Kelantan (467), Kedah (434), Johor (406), Perak (382), Negeri Sembilan (370), Penang (302), Melaka (165), Pahang (161), Sabah (144) and Terengganu (139).

To date there are a cumulative total of 498,795 confirmed cases and 444.540 recoveries (including 4,508 discharged today) at 89.12% recovery rate.

50 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 2,149.

There are currently 52,106 active cases, including 643 at ICUs, 363 requiring ventilators.
