PUTRAJAYA, May 17 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 4,446 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including three imported cases.

Selangor reported 1,650 new cases, followed by Sarawak (433), Johor (391), Kelantan (343), Kuala Lumpur (297), Negeri Sembilan (243), Kedah (236), Perak (203), Terengganu (201), Penang (159) and Pahang (139).

To date there are a cumulative total of 474,556 confirmed cases and 429,103 recoveries (including 2,784 discharged today) at 90.42% recovery rate.

A record 45 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 1,947.

There are currently 43,506 active cases, including 522 at ICUs, 273 requiring ventilators.
