PUTRAJAYA, May 12 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 4,765 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, the highest in three months, including seven imported cases.

Selangor reported 2,082 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (540), Sarawak (405), Johor (348), Kelantan (297), Penang (259), Kedah (226), Perak (172), Negeri Sembilan (122) and Melaka (110).

To date there are a cumulative total of 453,222 confirmed cases and 411,360 recoveries (including 3,124 discharged today) at 90.76% recovery rate.

A record 39 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 1,761.

There are currently 40,101 active cases, including 469 at ICUs, 244 requiring ventilators.
