PUTRAJAYA, May 10 (Sin Chew Daily) – Due to the staggering daily new infection numbers of COVID-19, prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that Movement Control Order will be implemented nationwide.

Traveling across state and district borders, along with all social activities and sports and educational events, will be banned from May 10 to June 10, while other SOPs related to the MCO will take effect from May 12 to June 7.

Employers must allow all their staff to work from home, and only 30% of administrative staff are allowed to go back to office.

Mutual visits and visiting graveyards will also not be allowed during Hari Raya. Only 50 people are allowed to pray at a mosque with a capacity of 1,000 people, and 20 for a mosque with below-1,000 capacity.

However, all economic activities will still be allowed.

More relevant SOPs will be announced by the national security council soon.
