PETALING JAYA, Apr 28 (Sin Chew Daily) – More than half of the newly diagnosed COVID-19 cases in the country in recent weeks have been asymptomatic cases.

Health minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba told Sin Chew Daily out of the 2,733 COVID-19 cases confirmed yesterday, as many as 1,617 or 59.2% were asymptomatic, while the remaining 1,116 cases presented symptoms.

He said out of the cumulative total of 398,451 positive cases as of Tuesday, 297,761 or 74.7% had been asymptomatic.

"Only 100,690 (25.3%) of the cases have symptoms."
