PETALING JAYA, Apr 10 (Sin Chew Daily) — A pair of plastic gloves filled with warm water are tied to the hand of an unconscious COVID-19 patient in the intensive care unit as if a family member is holding his hand.
The Public Health Malaysia page on Facebook posted a photo of a patient's hand being 'held' by a pair of gloves.
A nurse came up with the idea of using warm gloves to 'hold' the hand of an unconscious COVID-19 patient fighting for his life in the intensive care unit (ICU).
No visitors are allowed inside the ICU.
The post reads: "This is to let the unconscious patient feel as if his hand is being held by a relative hoping that he will fight on and recover."
The post also wished all COVID-19 patients in the ICU, normal ward and those remaining at home to have a speedy recovery.
More than 40,000 people have liked the post which is shared by 5,000.
Some praise the nurse for her creative idea and thank the medical staff for taking good care of patients at ICU.
