SEREMBAN, Mar 19 (Sin Chew Daily) — Will Umno and DAP collaborate in future?
DAP organizing secretary Anthony Loke Siew Fook is of the view that current political scenario offers many possibilities.
During a recent Facebook Live interview, Loke said DAP had never discussed anything with Umno on collaboration in the coming general elections.
He reiterated that DAP's stand was clear: it would never cooperate with any corrupt or convicted leaders to form a joint government.
On whether DAP would work with Umno in the coming general elections, Loke said judging from past elections, both Umno and DAP did not contest in the same parliamentary seats.
The issue of both political parties negotiating on seat allocation as a form of collaboration did not arise here.
However, Loke stressed that whether the two parties would collaborate post-election was still an open question.
"The political scenario in the country has changed and is full of possibilities.
"No one knows the outcome of the next general elections. Under the current situation, no one can give an accurate answer.
"If political parties are required to collaborate to form a stable government, there is always room for discussion," he said.
