PUTRAJAYA, Feb 17 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 2,998 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including seven imported cases.

Selangor reported 1,382 new cases, followed by Johor (436), Negeri Sembilan (233), Kuala Lumpur (226) and Sarawak (200).

To date there are a cumulative total of 272,163 confirmed cases and 229,762 recoveries (including 5,709 discharged today) at 84.42% recovery rate.

22 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 1,005.

There are currently 41,396 active cases, including 231 at ICUs, 115 requiring ventilators.
