PH to plead to King to revoke emergency with support of at least 100 MPs

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 (Sin Chew Daily) – Pakatan Harapan has already secured the support of 100 opposition lawmakers to present jointly signed letters from various parties to His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong to plead the latter to revoke the emergency ordinance and reconvene the Parliament as soon as possible.

A PH leader told Sin Chew Daily the coalition had already secured the support of 100 Members of Parliament.

"All 91 MPs from PH parties, plus nine other opposition lawmakers from former PM Mahathir's camp, UPKO and PSB, have agreed to support.

"As for Parti Warisan Sabah, its president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal is still undecided, but the other Warisan MPs we contacted have said they are OK.

"We talked to Shafie, but he said he was still observing and had not made a decision yet."

The source also said if they could secure the support of eight Warisan MPs , they only need three more Umno reps' support to make up the magic number 111.

"While this may not topple the administration of PM Muhyiddin, at least it shows that he has lost the support of majority of MPs."
