PUTRAJAYA, Jan 16 (Sin Chew Daily) – A record 4,029 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including eight imported cases.

Selangor had the highest number of new cases at 1,466, followed by Johor (719), Sabah (449), Kuala Lumpur (347), Negeri Sembilan (214), Kedah (195). Kelantan (141) and Penang (120).

To date there are a cumulative total of 155,095 confirmed cases and 117,37 recoveries (including 2,148 discharged today) at 75.7% recovery rate.

Eight new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 594.

There are currently 37,126 active cases, including 205 at ICUs, 79 requiring ventilators.
