PUTRAJAYA, Jan 7 (Sin Chew Daily) – A record 3,027 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including six imported cases.

Johor reported the highest number of new cases at 1,103, followed by Selangor (706), Sabah (493), Kuala Lumpur (316) and Penang (111).

To date there are a cumulative total of 128,465 confirmed cases and 102,723 recoveries (including 2,145 discharged today) at 80.0% recovery rate.

Eight new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 521.

There are currently 25,221 active cases, including 142 at ICUs, 63 requiring ventilators.
