PUTRAJAYA, Jan 6 (Sin Chew Daily) – A record of 2,593 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including four imported cases.

Selangor reported the highest number of new cases at 965, followed by Johor (571), Sabah (405), Kuala Lumpur (265) and Negeri Sembilan (125).

To date there are a cumulative total of 125,438 confirmed cases and 100,578 recoveries (including 1,129 discharged today) at 80.2% recovery rate.

Four new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 513.

There are currently 24,347 active cases, including 141 at ICUs, 67 requiring ventilators.
