PUTRAJAYA, Jan 4 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 1,741 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including eight imported cases.

Selangor reported the highest number of new cases at 687, followed by Sabah (303), Johor (295) and Kuala Lumpur (150).

To date there are a cumulative total of 120,818 confirmed cases and 98,228 recoveries (including 1,010 discharged today) at 81.3% recovery rate.

Seven new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 501.

There are currently 22,089 active cases, including 122 at ICUs, 53 requiring ventilators.
