KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 27 (Sin Chew Daily) — Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing is under self-isolation for more than six days now.
The ambassador shares his life in quarantine at home in a video recording through the Chinese Embassy's Facebook page.
Ouyang starts his day with reading Sin Chew Daily, then Chinese calligraphy. Using Chinese brush, he wrote "China and Malaysia are as close as one family".
The ambassador arrived in Kuala Lumpur on December 20.
He is now under self-isolation at his residence in compliance with the COVID-19 preventive measures set by the Malaysian government.
"I have not left my home for a few days. I spend time reading books, newspapers, practicing Chinese calligraphy and walking to keep myself healthy," he said.
Ouyang pays close attention to the COVID-19 situation in Malaysia.
He also spends time communicating with friends in Malaysia on the cyberspace.
"I also read about Chinese organizations sending their best wishes for my arrival in the local Chinese newspapers. I can feel that Malaysians are friendly and passionate.
"I will start work as soon as I can to help foster ties between Malaysia and China. I will also contribute my time and focus to work on closer collaboration between our two countries," he said.
