KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (Sin Chew Daily) — Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki denied that the commission had instructed the Sabah immigration department to ban DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng from entering the state.
Azam Baki told Sin Chew Daily MACC would not restrict the movement of Lim Guan Eng within the country and had never instructed the Sabah immigration department to ban him from entering the state.
"It could be a misunderstanding. The court has only detained his passport and ban him from traveling out of the country.
"Probably the Sabah immigration department has misunderstood that he has been blacklisted.
"He can still enter Sabah. The Sabah immigration department has now allowed him to enter the state. It's just a misunderstanding."
Lim Guan Eng was at one point barred from entering Sabah when he arrived at Kota Kinabalu airport last night.
