PETALING JAYA, July 30 (Sin Chew Daily) – Prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has personally told Umno elected representatives that his party PPBM wished to join the "Muafakat Nasional" alliance of Umno and PAS in order to strengthen Malay parties in the country.

PPBM vice president Datuk Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman has also confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that his party would join MN at the invitation of Umno and PAS.

"Yes, we have discussed this matter…Actually we made the decision only recently at the PPBM supreme council meeting.

"We have in principle agree to join MN."
