PETALING JAYA, June 15 (Sin Chew Daily) — Malaysian Kindergarten Teachers Association welcomes the announcement by senior minister of defense Datuk Seri Sabri Yaakob to reopen all preschool establishments nationwide.
Its president Sally Ng said during an interview with Sin Chew Daily that parents should take advantage of the next two weeks to teach their children how to observe social distancing rules and be mentally prepared for the new normal even though they will go back to the same school with the same teachers and classmates.
However, she said the association was still unsure whether preschool children need to put on face masks.
Ng said the association had yet to receive the SOPs from the education ministry but operators could start the preparations.
She insisted that ll kindergarten operators would adhere to the SOPs strictly to ensure the children's safety.
"Activities involving hand-holding and physical contacts will not be allowed for the time being," she said, adding that students may be put in different classes to conform to the social distancing rules.
