PUTRAJAYA, June 5 (Sin Chew Daily) – Director-general of health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced 19 new COVID-19 cases in the country as of noon today, including seven imported cases.

Of the 12 locally transmitted cases, nine are Malaysians, and three foreigners.

To date, there are a cumulative total of 8,266 confirmed cases and 6,610 recoveries (including 51 discharged today) at 79.97% recovery rate.

One new death has been reported, taking the toll to 116.

There are currently 1,540 active cases, including six at ICUs, one requiring ventilator.
