Kuala Lumpur, Apr 28 (Sin Chew Daily) – The parliamentary secretariat has issued a notice to all Members of Parliament to undergo COVID-19 tests two days before the Dewan Rakyat resumes on May 18.
Only MPs holding the health certificates will be allowed to enter the parliamentary hall.
Dewan Rakyat secretary Riduan Rahmat pointed out in the notice that MPs not taking the tests or testing positive for COVID-19 would not be allowed to attend the day's sitting.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker has agreed to conduct COVID-19 tests on MPs from 09:00 to 15:00 on May 14 and 15.
The notice also said if an MP opts to do the test at a nearby government clinic or hospital, the test must be conducted at least two to three days before the Dewan Rakyat sitting resumes and a certificate from the doctor must be obtained, adding that all such expenses would be borne by the Parliament.
