KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 4 (Sin Chew Daily) — Former Chief Justice Tun Abdul Hamid Mohamad said if Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is offered a position in the new cabinet, the administration of prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin would be toppled in a no-confidence vote.
He wrote on his blog that many people, including himself, would withdraw their support for Perikatan Nasional because they have grown sick of politicians who only "care about their own stomachs".
Abdul Hamid also made a ten-pronged proposal to the new government with the hope it would not repeat the mistakes of former BN and Pakatan Harapan administrations.
"Even if Umno threatens to withdraw from PN if Ahmad Zahid is not appointed a minister or DPM, let Umno leave and let the new government fall. Believe me, Umno will be cursed by the Malays."
